Two years ago we made a fake trailer for a movie we WANTED to make. And TODAY thanks to you guys, the OFFICIAL TEASER TRAILER for that movie is here! You did this. Your support and love brought the smart black movie genre back from the dead and into theaters this OCTOBER 17TH!!
WATCH, LIKE, SHARE, REPEAT!
First of all.
HELL YEAH TO THIS MOVIE.
Now the un-fun part.
The un-fun has begun.
It’s obvious this movie will use Youtube as a way to connect to fans of its release…
We here at Dormtainment have been on Youtube for years. Personally, It has given me the skill to kind of “read” the reaction a video has just by the like bar.
I want you guys to watch how aggressively this movie is disliked on Youtube…
And the dislike bar ratio in comparison to other videos…
And look at why it’s disliked…
And on what channels its more aggressively disliked…
Feels racial right?
Most modern racism is hidden in subtleties and systems. Youtube provides a platform for the common man to openly express, and even get “likes”, for his/her gross, smelly, probably hairy racist views.
Youtube has its own brand of rampant racism that is only a piece of the widespread racism that the internet is known for.
As Youtube has grown to have more of a “mainstream” audience, you get to see more regular people (AKA people who don’t live on the internet) commenting. This means you’ll read a HEAP of common place, logical, genuinely racist opinions from real people. Across da globe!
(I will write more about Youtube’s expression of racism soon…)
A movie that speaks to race in the title (especially with black people in the thumbnail) will definitely be watched, followed, and attacked * disappointingly-looks-at-the-camera.gif * on the internet .
My main point is, if you’re a fan of the idea of this movie like I am, you should learn how to read, understand, and not internalize the racist comments you’ll see.
DO: Like and recommend the video and film. It’s your best way of stickin’ it to the man…
DON’T: Get into essay long arguments in a Youtube comment section. I don’t know if you can get into healthy debates on that platform…
DO: Skim through and read those ignorant comments. Even stupidity has something to teach…
DON’T: Read too much of it. Seriously. It’ll mess you up bad.
DO: Try Butter Pecan Syrup. It’s bomb on pancakes.
Or, do all that stuff and don’t try the syrup. I aint got the answers Sway. I’m just sayin watch out, because if you’re not used to internet racism, you surely will be if you follow this film.
